Aaron R. Butler, Ph.D.
Vice Principal
Aaron Butler earned his Ph.D. from the
University of Missouri-St. Louis in May 2006 with an emphasis in
Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
He is a member of the American Educational Research Association, the
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National
Association of Secondary School Principals, and the National Council of
Teachers of Mathematics. He also
serves as an active volunteer with Service International and St. Louis Family Church.
Dr. Butler
joined the CCC faculty as the Vice Principal overseeing curriculum and
educational services. He spent the
previous four years at McCluer High School in Florissant, Missouri
where he served as the mathematics department chair and chair of the
professional development committee. While
in these positions he helped organize professional development activities
for the school, created innovative programs to increase student achievement,
and introduced Professional Learning Communities to the staff. In addition to these roles, he served as
a member of the High School Schedule Restructuring Committee and the
Ferguson-Florissant High Achievement for All Task Force.
Prior to his time at McCluer High School,
Dr. Butler served as a mathematics teacher and baseball coach in Granite City, Illinois
for two years. He began his teaching
career in the Grandview R-2 school district as a science and mathematics
teacher while coaching football and baseball.
