This comprehensive language arts course will introduce students to various genre of literature and the writing process. Emphasis on reading strategies, a review of grammar and mechanics, and understanding literary devices are included. Short stories are the primary focus of the first semester, and the second semester will involve the examination of longer texts, such as The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Scorpions, and The Odyssey.
